Groomed By Kelly Policies

LATE DROP-OFF/PICK-UP

• Groomed By Kelly is a salon by appointment. Please ensure you promptly drop off and pick up your dog(s) so I can honor all scheduled appointments. If any issues arise, kindly communicate with me in advance so I can try to be accommodating.
• 10+ Minutes Late: A $15 late fee will be added to your service.
• 15+ Minutes Late: Your appointment may need to be rescheduled, and a charge of 50% of the booked service fee will apply.
• Additional Delay: If I can accommodate your delayed appointment, an extra fee of $1 per minute will be added for every minute beyond 11 minutes.
• I will inform you when I  estimate your dog will be finished at check-in. I will call or text 20 minutes (or more, if requested) before your dog is finished. I ask that you arrive within 30 minutes of that time. If you arrive past your pick-up time, $1 per minute will be added to your service. 

NO-SHOW & CANCELLATION

• A no-call no-show will result in 100% service cost due before or at your next grooming appointment.
• If you no-call no-show 3 times, pre-payment will be required before booking an appointment.
• I request a 24-hour notice for cancellations.
• Same-day cancellations will result in 50% of the service cost for that day due before or at your next grooming appointment.
• I understand that emergencies happen and will work with you whenever possible. Please communicate with me. Frequent no-shows or late cancellations may result in losing your appointment privileges, or you may be required to prepay for future appointments.

VACCINES, PET HEALTH, & BEHAVIOR

• All clients must provide proof of an updated rabies vaccine.
• I do not groom dogs that are sedated, pregnant, or female dogs with their cycle present.
• If fleas, lice, and/or ticks are present on a dog, I will immediately halt the grooming process and require you to pick up immediately. In all cases, you will only be charged 50% of the service scheduled.
• All clients are kindly asked to inform me of any known health conditions or stress-related issues before your pet's grooming appointment. Knowing about these conditions doesn't automatically mean a service refusal- it simply helps me ensure a safe and comfortable process for your pet. I am committed to acting in your pet's best interest and will pause the grooming process immediately if any concerns arise. Should the service be halted, you will only be charged for the work completed up to that point, with a minimum charge of 50% of the booked service.
• All clients are also asked to inform me of any known behavioral concerns. I always handle behavioral issues on a case-by-case basis. If a dog shows signs of extreme aggression, I will stop the groom and recommend that further grooming appointments be made at your vet for safety. Depending on the situation, a charge for services completed may apply.

ACCIDENTS & LIABILITY

• At Groomed By Kelly, pet safety is my top priority.
• While I use the safest grooming practices, accidents can happen. Sharp tools, unexpected movement, unknown lumps, or severe matting may increase the risk of minor nicks or injuries. I take every precaution to prevent this, but will assess the situation and seek veterinary care if an injury occurs. I will contact you as soon as a problem arises.
• Depending on the circumstances, i.e, severe matting, the pet owner may be responsible for veterinary costs.

PRICING & PAYMENTS

• At Groomed By Kelly, pricing is based on an hourly rate, which is determined by factors such as breed, size, coat condition, and behavior. All quotes provided are starting prices, and if additional time is required for your pet's grooming, the final cost may be higher than the initial estimate.
• I accept cash and card payments through Square; however, card transactions may be subject to a processing surcharge. You will be informed of any applicable surcharge before pickup. Checks are not accepted. Thank you for your understanding!

Matted Pet Policy

• Matted (tightly tangled &/or knotted) coats can cause a variety of skin & health problems. Due to matting, pets' hair may need to be shaved extremely short to the skin and may show signs of skin irritation and sores due to matting, wet undercoat, and dirty coat. Pets that have not been groomed often enough usually result in a long, stressful, or painful grooming session. It is my goal with Groomed By Kelly to make your pet's grooming experience as stress-free as possible. Therefore I refuse to de-mat coats that have become matted & tangled when doing so may cause stress, pain, injury &/or suffering. I will always act in the animal's best interest and remove matted & tangled coats in the most humane manner possible.
• All possible care will be taken in removing a matted coat, but the possibility of injury exists and by agreeing to these policies and leaving your pet for grooming you acknowledge that you are aware of the condition of your pet's coat, the possibility of pre-existing issues found under the coat, and the risk of causing the skin to be nicked and/or cut because of the tightness of the matting and the need to work closely to the skin to remove the coat and you give Groomed By Kelly permission to proceed with services. Groomed By Kelly is not responsible for injuries sustained due to the condition of your pet's coat. By booking your appointment and leaving your pet in my care, you agree to pay any, and all Veterinary fees for my above-mentioned pet's care. You release Groomed By Kelly from any responsibility of the above-mentioned process, and any medical problems that may be uncovered and or occur during the stripping process while working on your pet. At the time of drop-off, you will receive a pre-assessment estimate and agree that the estimate may increase depending on the coat condition and your pet's behavior at the time of the grooming appointment.
